Common questions

If something is not covered here, the school office is happy to answer it before you apply.

What ages do you take?+

Children from 6 to 16. The application form checks the date of birth, so an application outside that range cannot be submitted.

How do you decide which class my child goes into?+

By ability rather than strictly by age. On the form you tell us whether your child is reading Qa'idah, Juz Amma or the Qur'an. Beginner covers Qa'idah, short surahs and the fundamentals of salah; Intermediate covers Juz Amma, tajweed rules and hadith; Higher Level covers Qur'an recitation with tajweed, seerah and aqeedah. The school confirms the placement.

Can we attend on weekends only?+

Yes. There are two weekend sessions, and each is separate — choose one. Weekend Morning (AM) runs Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am–1:00pm; Weekend Afternoon (PM) runs Saturday and Sunday, 2:00–4:00pm. The Weekday Evening session runs Monday to Thursday, 5:00–7:00pm. All three cover the same syllabus and sit the same assessments.

How are fees charged?+

Monthly, from September to June — ten payments across the year. July is not charged because the term ends mid-month. New starters also pay a one-off registration fee.

How many exams are there?+

Two a year: a Mid-Year sitting in January and an End-of-Year sitting in July. Each pupil sits each once, and a numbered certificate is issued for every pass.

How is attendance recorded?+

A register is taken at the start of every session by the class admin. Marks are Present, Late, Absent or Excused. Please tell the class admin in advance if your child will be away — an excused absence is not counted against their attendance record.

Do siblings need separate applications?+

Yes, one per child, since each needs their own class and record. You can use the same contact details for all of them.

How long does an application take to review?+

You will receive a reference number as soon as you submit. The school reviews applications and confirms a class and a start date; quote the reference number if you need to chase it.
