About the school

Al Majidiah Madrasah is an Islamic supplementary school at a single location, teaching children aged 6 to 16. The full term runs from September to July, and every child sits two formal assessments a year.

Three levels

Children are placed by ability rather than strictly by age — a child reading Qa'idah usually starts at Beginner, Juz Amma usually starts at Intermediate, Qur'an usually starts at Higher Level, Qur'an Completed usually starts at Higher Level. Each level is taught separately to boys and to girls.

Beginner

Surah Boys · Surah Girls

Qa'idah, short surahs, daily duas and the fundamentals of salah.

Intermediate

Qur'an Boys 1 · Qur'an Girls 1

Juz Amma, tajweed rules, hadith and core fiqh.

Higher Level

Qur'an Boys 2 · Qur'an Girls 2 · HIFZ Evening · HIFZ Weekend

Qur'an recitation with tajweed, seerah, aqeedah and the Forty Hadith.

Three sessions

Each session runs as its own madrasah with its own register, and all of them follow the same syllabus and sit the same assessments. Families choose whichever fits around school and work.

  • Weekday (Evening)Mon–Thu, 5:00pm – 7:00pm17:00–19:00
  • Weekend (Morning)Sat–Sun, 10:00am – 1:00pm10:00–13:00
  • Weekend (Afternoon)Sat–Sun, 2:00pm – 4:00pm14:00–16:00

Assessment

There are two sittings each academic year — Mid-Year in January and End-of-Year in July. Marks are recorded against a pass mark set for each class, and every pupil who passes receives a numbered certificate that the school can verify on request. Pupils can also be recognised with badges for achievement and character.

Fees

Fees are charged monthly from September to June — ten months rather than eleven, because the year ends mid-July with the final assessment. New starters also pay a one-off registration fee. Current rates are confirmed when a place is offered.
